It is fairly cheap to run ..... but none of it is standard now ... so bits are hard ..
.... it was built by Tony Pond Motorsport in 1992, (I have original drawings), as a stage rally car, get the impression that Rover wanted to get into the F2 category as was at the time and compete with Ford et al ... have correspondence in my file suggesting the Rover/Pond relationship was not a happy one and the idea got canned .... my car did the 1994 RAC driven by a Norwegian, (whose name escapes me) and failed to finish.
Since then it has been rebuilt by its previous owner, (to massive cost) and he did 2 rallies in it ....
.. I have done both forest and tarmac rallies and it is superb ....
... and it has still only done 3200 miles!!!
Last time out I crashed, so bought a white 220 gti of ebay and scrapped it for parts so now it has original front and rear end .. ..will post full spec below.
Suspension: Gartrac Suspension with Bilstein inserts, Front suspension 270/140, Rear suspension 300/120, Strut braces front and rear, 3 Degrees negative front camber, 2-3 mm Tow in on rear arms, Superflex uprated bushes all round, Pillow ball top mounts(Steel)

for the record, I've pasted the text of the ad here; as obviously it will go before long: I unexpectley have to resell this cracking little rally car.I only bought it from e-bay a few months ago.It has to go due to an other rally car and a car in build,you can only have so much!!!!.(Yes Dear!!!) This car comes with not only exellent spec but loads of history.It was originally built by The late great TONY POND.I didn't even know he had a race and rally car preperation company.As the story goes,he was comissioned to built 6 of these cars for a championship back in the early nineties.I have faxes to and from him to Rover.one of the faxes questions why the bill was £153,000,when they were quoted £126,000!!!!!!! WHAT????,that was just for phase 1!!!.Anyway theres loads of stuff like that,inc the original(blue prints) drawings of the conrods etc. These cars were built to GP N spec for a challange,and this one is believed to have competed on the 1992 RAC,under the Rover Works banner!!.Since then it has changed a few hands and had this added on like the fabulous engine and fantasic box.Allthough it has only done approx 20 rallies,(gravel and tarmac) it still has only 3,300(approx) on the clock,this original!!!!. The car is a PROPER RALLY CAR so dont expect it to be mint condition and as straight as a die,but it is very good condition,very straight and very strong!!.It had,had a full under car respray 2 rallies ago,and 2 new bumpers fitted.The paint work is very good and in my opinian does'nt need a respray(and I'm picky).The inside is clean and tidy,as you can see it still has the carpets in and has a head cloth,so chuck a back seat in and you have your self a very competitive road rally car!!.
