Cheap Rover 75

No such thing mate. I have just looked for months, went to see more sheds than enough. In the end took the advice of a local guy who buys and sells from his home, and went to the local auctions on Fleet sale day. Nearly all cars three years old with various mileages and as they came straight from the folk who used them ie. not tarted up. Easy to see which had been looked after, and all had dealer services. "See my other thread on this though" Good time to buy is now as dealers do not want stock sat over christmas.

I look every other day - just in case something unusual crops up. You get some bargains sometimes (like my Syphony unit for £16!), but some stuff goes for more than the dealer prices. Yikes!

Derby Raynsway BCA on a Wednesday. Phone them Tues and they will tell you what's due to go through and approx time. I struck lucky on a day when a bank put eight 75s through.

 

It amazes me how many parts are listed as suitable for the R75 but they are not. They just fit the 25/45. It makes searching for parts more difficult.

 

eBay is still a good source for parts though and there are still some bargains to be had.

All the time Andy, and I've no idea why, maybe just to compare them with mine !
I'm also constantly searching for spares and accessories for my car.
After that I check out the " Classic cars " section to see how many Rover P5B coupes there are that I can't afford.

1.8 engines are not too hard to come by. Who knows what silly reserve is on it ?

Well ebay ended on £921 on the Dead 75, it isnt a bad price if you had time to go and look at it to make sure it isnt a sack of *****. If its tidy somebody has grabbed a right bargain.

If anyone finds a good looking sub £3000 75 on ebay, that is in the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire/Sheffield/Staffordshire (East Mids basically) area OR can be delivered, then let me know!
