Just doing some research, did the 1.8 Turbo MG6 ever come with a manual 6 Speed Gearbox as an option ?


....and before the jokers pop out that means a box with 6 forward gears and one reverse. ;)

I was attempting to find a 6 speed to mate onto my 1.8, I did look down the FORD route due to the late 25/ZR getting a FORD gearbox but I have no idea if it is FORD internals with a modded bellhousing, at least the MG6 if it had one should fit with fettling in regards to the shifter.

The MG6 1.8T gearbox

The gearbox used in the MG6 petrol version was based on the PG1 gearbox.

I think that it was unlikely that they would have developed a 6 speed version of this given that it was already at the limit of whatever they had the time because the 1.8T petrol version had to be detuned so not to break the clutch/gearbox set-up with too much torque:

WOW, 4 Grand, cheaper to suck it up and scream at 3k down the motorway lol.
