Can anyone recommend a freeware defrag utility? The MS one has always been slow but now it doesn't want to work.

i use diskeeper, its not freeware but you can get a free trial from the website

very powerful defragger

O&O Defrag is fantastic.

Only free for 30 days though

disk keeper gets my vote too. Although my version has a parrot and a wooden leg.

Thanks all I've downloaded O&O and now using it. I'm wondering whether I have deleted some important file that means the MS one wont start up :lol:

I will keep my eye out for a diskkeeper flying the Jolly Roger
