Strange but true, 2 out of the 4 dealers I've been to
ask about a price for a 75 Tourer are NOT interested in taking my order.

They want to sell me one they have as a pre-reg or on their
pre-ordered list, but as soon as they learn the I want a higher
spec on which they would need to order specifically, they just say sorry, we can't help you.

Frankly I'm shocked!

Yes I've found dealers like that - I agreed to buy a new Rover, dealer rang back later to say it wasn't available - but didn't offer to find another for me - so I got in my car - drove 30miles to the next one and bought it from there!

MGR need to sort out their dealers - bring back the family garages - not the multi site.

Strange, i read a tale like this on X-Power. The Guy a Zr owner wanted to test drive a ZS 180.........non- avable Sir!

Dealerships can be very funny places, i went to a Pug Dealership after a 106 GTI. Dealer tried to lift my leg a trade price (Metro GTI the Worst car i have EVERy owned) and flat said no to selling me a GTI.

Tried to Force me to buy a Rallye. But Southport Honda was the one. Went cheque book in hand to see the the CTR. All going fine when this plant pot went for me. I asked if it came with Air-con and he like blew on me!

I felt i had to leave the dealership like quick. I was on to Honda the Next day and Lookers. I get a phone call that night threatening to put my windows though! Again Lookers and i chat they advice me to call the Police.

Honda say nothing, but next day Lookers Liverpool ring, nice Scots chap Please come down for a test drive. Than offers me ÂŁ500 MORE than book for the 306 GTI-6 and i get the CTR in 4 days!

Compain.............It works!

Hi i'm the sales manager at Richardsons of Tiverton. We're more than happy to sell anyone a Rover or MG to the spec you want.:p

If you are serious about ordering a high spec Tourer call me on 01884 256851 and tell me what I would have to do to win your order. You will not get palmed off with pre-reg cars or demonstrators.

We believe that if a customer wants a particular car he/she should be able to get that car.

I will say that lead times are not short at the moment due to strong demand, but if you are willing to wait, all well and good.

I know were at opposite ends of the country but thats why car transporters were invented.

Once again if I can help please call and ask for Phil.

If I can sort some bloke from Birmingham called Childs out I can do anything! (you wouldn't believe how much agro he gives me):yikes:

Horners MGR in Eccles are only interested in selling pre registered or stock cars.

I enquired about a R75 Tourer CDTi in a Monogram colour but was instead pointed in the direction of a Silver R75 Saloon 1.8T

Phoenix Preston are happy to specify a vehicle to your exact requirements, why can't all dealers do this ?

No probs give me a shout anyway, if I can help you I will, if I can't I will tell you, simple as that.

I recently sold a brand new 75 to a guy in Covent garden ,London for the same reason. He sent me digital photo's of his part exchange and any damage. Distance ain't a problem.

Regards Beaker. :D

I think you should take beaker up on his offer of help. As for the other dealer(s), I feel you should call someone at MG-R and let them know that they were unable/unwilling to place an order for you. MG-R "definitely" don't need dealers like these ones!
