dont like the red, looks tacky IMO the dials look sweet and the gauge is nice! reckon the black complete dash with the red light of the clocks would look :broon:

didnt spot that bolt on gear surround tat either. chuck that as well.

go back to black for all of the bits - much better than the fake wood - keep it subtle!!

It's a nice finish you have got on all the red bits anyway! TBH tho i would want to lose the red dash surround, and possibly the red boost guage surround. The rest would be fine, and you could get away with a red dash strip too IMO! One thought i did have is that unless you plan to fit anything next to the boost guage, then maybe you could stick a small rover badge on there, to finish it off?

The gear lever surround does look a bit crap and very tacky im afraid tho!

 

Have got a small rover badge (same as on the quater pannel) but didn't look right, too big! Thinking Of having a 220td graphic made up, wouldn't cost much.

The remote holder is a phone holder for a nokia 8310 (fits perfectly), picked it up from the scrap yard when I was sorcing the other bits.

 

I quite like it. I think if you get one of those red and black leather steering wheels from Ebay that would help it. I think the problem is the finish of the paint. If you had a satin finish to the red paint it would match the dash better, but with it having a shine it looks a bit like plastic! Not sure on the guage either, but thats just me!

 

hey you have the same radio as me! is yours got the ipod stuff too? like a cable that fits into the back and then an alpine ipod box thingy.

ps. i dont like it when people start fiddling with paints and the dash board. in theory it sounds a good idea, but in reality it just looks tacky imo.

 

No ipod connection on this model, but being MP3/WMA can get a fair few hours on a CD.

I love the boost gauge sat right next to a rev counter that redlines at a mental 4500rpm! :haha:
Change the red to matt balck. Just tones it down a bit. I find that would distract me when I'm driving.

you sacrificed the middle air vents just for one gauge? you could have easily found a better place for it imo.
the red in the dash would have been ok if your seats were red too.

 

Can you see the gauge ok when your sat down... it seems to be angled upwards a bit much from the pic.....

 

Guage is spot on, just on the edge of your vision when your driving.

 

Looks nice, id have put another guage next to the current one though, make it look a bit more symetrical

tbh mate you would be a mug to spray it all red and then loose it because of coments on the site.. i personaly wouldnt do it to my car but do what you want to yours!

Yep its all down to personal choice, at the end of the day your the one whos going to be looking at it. If you find some brm seats and steering wheel, it would all tie in! Also get rid of the plastic wood!
