The mk3 interior is more curvey and rounded than the mk2's and coupes, looks a bit more modern IMO.

Not sure when it was introduced on the coupes though, some of the cabs also have it.

Which engine was the best, the Honda or the Rover? What is the reliability of these engines like? Anywhere near as good as German motors?

 

As the King says, the mk3 interiors are on the latter Coupes, with eninge line up of 1.8VVC k Series, and 1.6 K Series, they are all beige/ light grey interior and either leather full or half VVC or cloth/ half leather 1.6.

The other eariler coupes usually upto N platers have the mk2 inteior, black dashes with Black cloth or half or full leather, in beige or black trims. Engine line up for these is 1.6 Honda unit, 2.0 NASP or 2.0 Turbo.

:doh: Shame about the colours of the Mk3 dash. More of an old mans dash, than a coupe dash. Is it a possibility to change a colour of a dash? I`ve seen carbon fibre film etc, but think that would look cheap and tacky. Any ideas?

 

TBH mate, I thought the same before I got my VVC, I hunted around for a black un, and then wanted to do the bits of wood like the ZR, but I got use to it and really quite like it now. My mates have mk2 dashes in thier coupes and I think they look a bit dated now though.

If you wanted to be totally differnent and have a black un in a newer coupe ie VVC. You could get a mk3 black dash and then get a mk2 black Coupe interior to match up:hyper:

Im so suprised so many peopel decide what coupe to get based upon the dash.

If i fit a Mk3 to mine ill have a nice black interior that is just as upto date. I could even have the choice of a 1.6 Honda or a 2.0 turbo. Both much better engines than the K series IMO

I just decided I wanted a coupe and hunted round for two months until I found the right one. I didn't care what engine or interior, as when I sat in it and drove it, the car felt right.

I think I will get the Mk3 dash though now. Just have to find one in ash grey/black.

Is it an easy job to sawp dashes, or is it best to take it to rover? how much do they charge, any ideas?

 

Fairly straight forward. All the mounting points are the same.
