Does any one know how mutch should be the measured compression on a diesel rover 620 1994cc engine with 19.5:1 compression ratio i got a 22bar measured compresion and i dont know is it good or bad. Thanks to all

Are you having blue smoke from the exhaust? I think that 22 bar is a little bit low, but we have to know the official values from Rover (which I do not have, maybe someone with a Haynes manual for the L engine).

Typically, for 19,5/1 it should be higher (24-25 bar ) and it is not a good ideia to put oil inside the combustion chambers because they will be quite hot during the compression stroke and the oil will ignite.

Its more white then blue but when the motor is running normaly there is no white or blue smoke only at extremly high rpm which i think its not so bad thans any way and if you find any technical data about my problem please write
