Just wondering if anyone can help me here, I'm going to have to remove the dash to put some new bulbs in but I have to remove the old Philips R670 radio in my Rover 216 GTi but it means that when i plug it back in I need the code.......which i dont have, the last owner never made a note of it, and i dont really want an aftermarket radio (Trying to keep the car standard as possible).
I dont suppose there are some codes that I could try.
Your helpwould be much appreicated.

radio codes

I had a friends rover 620 with the same problem, searched on web for www.decodes.co.uk put in radio type and serial number. The fee is about ÂŁ8.00 within seconds had code and it was the correct one. I know it's ÂŁ8.00 but if you want to keep the radio it may be worth paying.

Philips Radio Code

You can only disable the security code feature if you know the code in the first place, in this instance, that's not much use to you. You can re-enable the feature just by holding down the up tuning button while turning the radio on, that's probably what that other reply is thinking about.

If you really want to keep the unit [and it still works! Most of those philips tape-deck units were useless!] then the de-code from the serial number, or taking it to a marker trader who has the decode software is going to be your best option.
