Hello, does anybody know the correct procedure for removing the gearbox on a 75 2002 diesel?
I've just done one the hard way. There doesn't seem to be enough room to get the 'box out of the way. Does the entire crossmember need to be removed??
Also, what's the recommended oil for the Getrag 'box, how many litres?
Thankyou.

Yes you will need to remove the entire subframe assembly !

MTF 94 Oil for the gearbox
Yes next time I will do just that.......
I managed to do it by moving the 'box back just enough to do some keyhole surgery, but definately not recommended. It seems a pity that its so involved as the 'box itself separates fairly easily (compared to the Citroens that I'm used to working on.
Anyone know the book time for a clutch/flywheel replacement??
Thanks Ex Tester

Toby. You may like to look at Dr Daves removal, on the floor !!!!!!!!
I clicked search and put in gearbox swap. His post with pictures (incl. subframe removed) is dated 1/4/2007.
Quite an achievment i think
