Put a DVD in it yesterday for the first time - it was a music DVD (not that it matters) and I got a red warning on the screen saying " warnin for you saftey, do not be watching " or something similar , then it plays for 30 seconds then goes blue then displays that message comes up on a blue screen

How do I get rid of this - I want to watch a DVD while driving - be for I get flamed , I dont want to watch it just listen to it so Id hold the mute key in to turn the screen off but I want the audio from the DVD

Basically im after TV/DVD in motion

If you go to this page:

...and make sure Brake is set to off as per the photo, it shouldn't show the "for your safety" screen.

Hope this helps.

good lad Tom I shall go and check if the typhoo has stopped outside
I had this problem with the first unit I had from the Chinese guy on eBay, eventually found turning "Brake" off sorted it, so it should work for you hopefully lol

I just drove through it on the way to dropping the car off at Terry's, visibility was awful, stopped over here now though.

No problem, thanks mate. You and Kirst going to make it to Cosford?
Probably not because we have to go to work, it's hard for us to get weekends off and we have weekend off in 3 weeks
guys, what's the sound quality on those chinese units? i bought chinese 4" unit once for my old car but it had terrible sound (i'm used to pioneer). did they improve?
Mine sounds okay and I only had the Harmony unit in before I installed the 2-Din. I think if you have/had a more up market system your sound may even be better.

Nope, ask Tom all the bits are still scattered around the car. I have been too busy this last week; I built an extra bathroom on the back of the house so not had the time to mess with TV signals.

Terry was saying today that I should get one of these Shark Fin Jobie's and pull the gummins out and put it inside the brake light housing on the rear windscreen.

Anyone know of a good quality Shark Fin thingy?

Quick question - does the Chinese unit have any customisable filters? i.e. a low pass / high pass / any frequency filter to divide the audio outputs between the RCA pre-outs

dont buy that edd it will be a waste of cash as its a radio ariel not a TV one
Actually it is the radio signal I really want to improve; I've given up on the TV thingy for the moment.

Yesterday while I was transporting Tom to Terry's I wanted to have the SatNav on but the radio off while we were talking. (Just being polite really) Tom had to select the Aux Mode (The DVB-T box is not connected yet since Carl pulled it out at York)

So How do you have the SatNav working without the radio on at the same time. There is so much to learn about all the options on these new units. Feels like the cockpit of a space Shuttle at times.

When I just want the GPS running, after activating the GPS just switch the units function from radio to somthing that dosn't activate (like the TV option as it runs on the AUX function) and the GPS will run without any background radio.
If you don't want music on while using satnav then just deselect GPS listen in the menu.

Okay that seems logical but if your driving and trying to go through all these menus it can get a bit distracting.

Also what do all these other options do, for instance the Vol Switch. What exactly or which volume is being switched?
