Alright guys,

Just wondering where I could get a new central locking motor for my zr mk2. Both drivers and passenger doors are grinding quite badly. Also do i need to buy the whole unit or just the motor. And how do I know what type to buy. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob

Cheers,

Where is this guide to repair them, I looked around before posting but could find anything. Also ive read that they are different types so is there a way off telling which type I would need.

Mine started making grinding noises which I have cured using this guide:

May look daunting but set aside a couple of hours and it is fairly straightforward. Read up on door card removal, I cut the plastic sheet and repaired with duck tape - less messy than pulling the sheet off that horridly sticky mastic.
Take pictures of mechanism and linkages as you dismantle, don`t rush it. There is a way in which it comes apart simply, take time to work that out.
You need torx bits, small sized, to dismantle the mechanism.
I used a roof bolt, threads carefully filed smooth and a smear of lithium grease, to replace the shaft. The roof bolt has a thin wide head which keeps the shaft stable and is easily glued to the mechanism body. I think it was an M5 bolt but little packs are cheap from the DIY sheds so get M4 ones as well.
Hope this helps.
