well i had a link up on here asking about spot lights om the front of the tf, And i got some spot lights and put them on and worked well but then missis cam in and said ""Dont like them there"" just under the number plate... so had to take them back out, and she said can they go there.. meaning were the fog lights should go.
i was only putting them under numberplate as the what i already had so didnt cost
and i no the proper tf fog light go for some silly money.. then i think you need the brackest?
is the wireing already there if you havnt got fog lights in already? and has anyone turned them into spot light just thinking they might be a bit brighter as we all no the tf lights arnt that good...
well if you have ideas let me no or if you see a cheap set anywere please also let me no. but love to know what you think about the change from fog to spot... and is there a lot of differance?

cheers lee

Lee whether it matters to you is what matters but traditionally, foglamps were mounted low because they have a very flat beam, are intended to illuminate the area immediately in front of the car and the lower they are mounted, the less you're going to be dazzled by a sea of glare. By contrast, driving lamps and especially pencil beam lamps are intented to project forward to long range so they would be mounted that bit higher.

told

i have got running lights in first grill and at the bottom of bumber but was going to put spot lights there aswell but she didnt like the look of them so just thinking of other ideas as trying to get more light on the road.. so thats why i was thinking could fogs be turned into spot lights , and as i havnt got the wireing already there was just goin to wire them up to full beam.
but all a dream at the moment

My spots are actually behind the mesh , bolted to top of the crash bar unless you look at the car straight on you can't see them

Know there are fog regs but thought full beam was free game
Here we go, eyes down for lotsalinks to MoT testers rules and regs.

I recently picked up and looked at a boxed pair of spots at the local motor factors: I'm pretty sure the rules related to fitting them in pairs. At the time it struck me as possibly economic with the truth.

Shall we all post up images of 1970s rally cars with 4 Cibies - two Oscars and two Super Oscars mounted two up two down or line abreast?

I bought fog lights to mount in my VVC (8 years ago) at the time it was one of only 3 or 4 F's in the country with a trophy front splitter AND foglights. (It was a fibreglass trophy splitter, you couldn't buy them with the rings for fogs back then) so I had my work cut out to get the holes right.

Then another challenge was that there was no loom for the fogs either...apparently the fogs I got were for a Rover 400 and they came with the wiring. There was no loom for electric mirrors either... a mod I would do without TBH especially when they turn out to be for a LHD car (meaning they are both on full adjustment and the fact they are electric is pointless)

I can't say that fogs are very useful either...I can't remember the last time I turned them on, but they look OK so not a bad mod.
