Breaking a ZS

It's been an interesting week for me.
Last weekend I took the difficult decision to break my car. A real shame because it was a lovely example of a ZS 180 but I couldn't sell it for a half decent amount without letting some chav on eBay take it for £500.

I've been amazed at what demand there is for parts and in only 5 days have made almost £1000 and have lots left to sell.

The money aside, it's just such a shame that a car so nice as a ZS should get to the point that it's worth more in parts.
I've never broken a car before and it's certainly not easy - made even less easy when you are emotionally attached to the car (and working night shifts too!)

I just hope the ZS's go back up in value a bit soon so that nice cars don't continue to get broken for bits.

Not ignition blue according to this post :(

I was gutted when I had to break a ZS due to engine issues - worth a lot more in pieces. I'm happy knowing it's helped others live on.

I found a really nice ZS TD in the local breakers yard and just felt so sad to see it there - I had some amazing times in my first ZS diesel (met my partner, moved house twice, travelled to all 4 corners of the UK) and think they're a very under-rated car. If there was an estate I'd still have one now.

Commission number of the one in the yard:

RIP. :(

You can get too attached i know.I cannot bring myself to get rid off my old 400 wedge diesel, was a cracking car,and now nearing the point of no return, and saving.full connolly leather too_Only last week i had a new 12 month mot,and did a full sevice on my little 25,4 new tyres, and middle and back exhaust also.running like a swiss watch, and a car i actually spent time on getting right, mechanically, and bodywise, even waxoyling it to death, and was a very tidy little car. Then i lost control on a m42 slip road-to the airport turn off, and smashed the front in,and damaged the nearside front suspension and possibly terminal, and not airport terminal either.Roads were damp/greasy and back end slid around without warning at under 40 mph,no-one else involved but me and a concrete wall.Bit pig sick about the car, having it fly through a mot,and what i have done to it.My dilemma is similar, scrap or attempt a rebuild, but i would have to put it on a body jig to see if there is body distortion. Can't bare to look at it,at the moment.
