Thats good,

Works out to 33.92mpg.

Thats assuming you used EXACTLY 26 litres, do you know for sure or was this a guestimate and the fuel gauge is far from accurate and there could be a large margin of error.

Hi thanks for the reply. It should be accurate becoz I waited till the gauge was at red then I put in 30£ worth of petrol which was 26.7 @ 1.12per litre.
Are the gauge not accurate? Now the gauge is sitting in the red and that's while the car is parked level and had the ignition on for 10min just to give the nedle a chance to settle down..
Cheers

Well that extra 700ml of petrol makes your mpg 33 exactly now......

And no, the fuel gauges are awful. You have a 50l tank, 13l's of which is the red.... thats a lot of fuel! One minute you can be full, then down the road you will be down to 3/4. But then takes an age to get to 1/2.

Only way to tell is to fill it to the brim (1st click for example) Drive, then when lowish fill it again and using the mileage done since the fill up and the exact amount needed to put it back to 1st click.

I get 29-32mpg depending whether im going uni in the autumn, winter and spring months or when im off in the summer (lots of short journeys so lower mpg)
