last week i changed the rear pads and discs on my zs 180. well i actually changed the rear n/s disc and pads as i managed to round off one of the 14mm bolts on the rear o/s calliper.
After a quick call to souls in bletchley on monday i ordered 2 x 14mm bolts at a cost of £1.02 each. fantastic i thought . i rang up today to see if they have received the bolts to be told by the mg parts department that there is a problem as MG have sent the wrong bolts. they then told me that they chased it up with MG and they no longer make or suply a 14mm bolt to fit the rear calliper.
As im sure you can imagine my first question was " well what the f$*k am i ment to do know?" his reply was "second hand or make one mate". i have to ask my self what would they do had they of rounded the bolt off changing my pads and discs?

most proberly yes lol, na were not like that! well im not anyway! just find a bolt of the right thread size then, cut to length and when you put it in use thread lock
go to the local scrap yard and get another bolt? £1 tops...
I had exactly the same problem! I think Rimmer Bros do sell the bolt you need but needs to be ordered as part of a pack that comes to (if memory serves) £31

In the end I did just root around the garage till I found one of the right size (out of an old table) till I got to a scrappy and got a "proper" one for 40p.

For next time, you can always try Quickco in Luton-they're an Xpart supplier who we use all the time-01582 592233.

And for reference, "we" are Evans Halshaw in Luton, who have 2 MG Rover technicians and all the workshop equipment, and we do nice deals for .org members... :)
