Potentially stupid question. Symptoms suggest battery may have a problem. Have only bought my first Rover and I hav never had a battery with indicator lights before.
If I stare from above the battery light indicator a dark green tinge is just visible. Should this be bright green, i.e. should it be obviously green.
Manual says "fading to black" means battery needs charging, but without a reference to check "Green-ness" its hard to judge. I would tend to assume it should be more clerly green than it is, i.e. I should not have to cover the light with my hands and peer into it to see a hint of green?
Any help? Are your own green light visible soon as you pop the bonnet? What should the voltage with ignition on/off read on the battery. How much is a new one?
