so when im in the 216 1.6 and i stop the car at say a traffic light the engin will stop and all lights come on the dash.... this is everytime i stop and one time when i was moving

speedo has stoped working
damnit help me ppl whats up with her

The symptoms you describe don't point straight to headgasket, you sure it's that?

Also I really wouldn't drive it at all if you know it's the headgasket, if it overheats and warps the head, you are costing yourself more money.

could be IACV not adjusting quick enough to prevent the engine from stalling when you put your clutch in.

damn it lol
well took it to a garage they told me head gasket and the anoying thing is i have to drive it as i dont work in my town

Agreed.


I would get a second opinion if I were you, some garages get a Rover with a problem and automatically think HGF (maybe because they can charge £300+). Seriously get it looked at elsewhere, or check your water and oil yourself, to see if you can see any signs of it.
