Do you mean the four cylinder MkI ST, or the five cylinder MkII?

I have driven the original ST for two and a half years and 45000 miles. It was great fun, with excellent handling and superb steering. All what the press said about the original Focus was true - it's a fantastic car.

However in my opinion, the ST did have a couple of bad points. The six speed gearbox was very notchy, and gearchanges could never be rushed.
Also the engine needed to be caned to get the best from it. Personally I think it was underpowered - especially as the chasis was so capable.

I bought a ZT 190+ on Friday and to be honest, it feels very similar in its responses to the ST. Direct, communicative steering, even more solidly built, HUGE boot.

But the ST never had that creamy V6!
