I have to say last year when it snowed my TF coped admirably. I was coasting on idle throttle positition in 3rd with no problems at all.
I found the biggest issue were other motorists, specifically the post school run mums in their 4x4's - The one day a year when your car's are actually worth it and you're driving over cautiously braking hard at every possible chance.

The key in the TF is driving very smooth, look ahead and adapt your road speed, try to avoid acceleration and deceleration, slow steady and smooth will get you home. Brake in a straight line, accelerate gently in a straight line and steer smoothly. You'll be amazed how well the car copes.

Obviously, if you don't feel comfortable in these conditions with yours and the cars ability, don't risk it!

This should be pinned. Very good advice!

Must admit after I had a problem earlier in the week getting up the hill to my house in the TF after it snowed, caused by having to stop for a bl**dy idiot coming the other way in a 4x4, I bottled it this morning at took the Subaru. Lot's of snow this evening and I'm glad I did. Whilst I'm sure the TF would have made it home the extra grip and drive in the Scooby reduces the blood pressure a bit :)

NOt driven the F in the snow, but I have crossed a mountain pass in my other car with summer tyres on. FWD and front engined... that was fun! Making the tail slide out on 90Âş and 180Âş bends... In the end I bought snow chains.

You need to drive the car very smoothly, like if you had no brakes on as you wouldn't want to use them. Ensure you've got traction at all times s try not to use the clutch much. But the best advice I can give is imagine you have a cup of water on the dash and you cannot spill it.
