does anyone buy their tyres off the net?
does it work out cheaper with delivery?
Which company do you use?
How do you put them on your car?
How much do kwik fit/etc. charge to take the old ones off and put the new ones on balence them up etc?

Or should I just bite the bullet and get kwik fit/etc to take care of the whole lot?

BTW AP tyres in Rotherham will sell you the same tyres as mytyres at a cheaper rate when you include fitment.
hahahahaha

sorry gary, I live 1 minutes walk away from them and they have never been anywhere close to the price of mytyres when I've phoned up and asked even after paying top whack for fitting

AP are sometimes cheap and sometimes expensive. (usually cheap when you phone for a quote or expensive if you turn up in a shiney car). They are close to where I work and I don't use them anymore. I prefer the blokes at canklow tyres. Very friendly and helpful and cheap too. (puncture - well a leaky valve stem cost me under a fiver to fix last week). They have also fitted a load of tyres I bought on mytyres site for me. They couldn't match the price even when fitting was added on at top whack.

As for buying on the net then mytyres are good but their courier is carp. Only after making investigations myself I found out that their courier hadn't even been bothered to post a ticket throguh my door and they'd been sat at the depot for over a week.

Mytyres are great, although I think their prices vary quite a lot . . . I paid ÂŁ30 per tyre for Goodyear Eagle F1's 195/45/15 in June last year, and now they are over ÂŁ50. I'd use them again like a shot, as the postage was very quick - got them within 3 days. And they are definitely cheaper than the same tyres from Kwik-fit!

I've bought 2 sets off Ebay from tyre sellers cheaper than any of these Tyre shops on the net and that includes the above which were selling my last tyre ÂŁ15 more per tyre than what I paid.

I have no problem with buying tyres from sellers who have shops on Ebay as they simply pass the cost savings on to you rather than having to fund a website.
I've had no problems and got a real bargain with the tyres I bought and got them within a couple of days.
You can get almost any tyre you want from Ebay cheaper than most places. Always worth a look first.

They have always been cheaper for the tyres i buy (215/45/17) usually Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's than mytyres. Mytyres charge ÂŁ91.70 + fitting. AP charged me ÂŁ92 each inc fitting.

My dad's puma also is cheaper than mytyres (when you factor in fitting) they buy Goodyear Eagle NCT5.

Don't know if you live near a Costco wholesale (search the net for your nearest).

I went to the one in Watford this Sunday and bought 4 top range tyres, fitted and balanced (can't recall the name) at nearly 50% the price of Kwick Fit (ÂŁ60 versus ÂŁ118 each). You do have to become a member at ÂŁ25pa, but car batteries are much cheaper as well. I've saved about ÂŁ300 alone on car tyres and batteries this year.

Costco are michelin only and yes they are very cheap. The batteries also come with a 4 year warrenty. It's probably the Primacy tyre you got which in my opinion are very good tyres. They also only charge you ÂŁ2 + vat to fit and balance your tyres.

P.S. It's not obvious who I'm a tyre fitter for is it? lol

The good thing with Costco tyre bays is that we are all fully trained by Michelin. You don't get near a car unless you have got your Michelin certificate. So you know you wont just be getting any idiot doing your wheels like most other places.

On the down side we have some weird rules that we must stick to, like new tyres to the rear only (unless they are a different size) and we will only fit what is coming off, unless you bring your wheels in loose.

I have used mytyres.co.uk and valuetyres.co.uk before, I did find that the Goodyear Ventura's that I was looking for at the time were around 60% cheaper per tyre on mytyres than anywhere near me, hence they got the order and local place fitted and balanced and disposed of old rubber for ÂŁ5 per corner.

That is not a wierd rule, it is called safety. New tyres should be fitted to the rear.

Get a price off the net nd then try a few a local places and see if they will match. Nearly always get a price matched or bettered around here.

I've always heard that too, but does it matter whether the car is FWD or RWD?
