After ive changed this new turbo i will be looking at getting the mafam properly setup as i can fiddle about with the dial all day long but without knowing exactly what it is doing there is no point.
Happy to pay as i dont expect anything for free these days lol

Theres nothing to it mate plug it in and turn it up till the car feels at its best. I always had mine turned all the way up.

But turning it up to high has advers effects mate
Just plug it in and start at the lowest setting and slowly turn it up after driving it each time. You should feel the change and know to stop. There is a little guide on it saying where you should put it depending on what MAF you have.
If you have it too high then you will develop more smoke, juddering when pulling away and high fuel consumption.
It must differ from car to car as mine made no diffrence to smoke levels when turned down. It was just a little less responsive.

I have a peirburg maff and the reasons above is exactly why i want it set up correctly :)
ok if you have the PB MAF then use setting 12 o'clock onwards ;)

If you have it tuned all the way up your MPG will be affected and there can be other issues too. A high MAFAM can cause more black smoke and juddering in gears.
I find adjusting it is a progressive process. I fine tuned the settings on mine till the MPG was optimal, and the smoke was fairly minimal. Takes a bit of doing though as the differences can be small between tweaks. Patience :)
ive got a PB maf in mine, and i used to run it at 1-2 O'clock position on the stock injectors.

now ive got SDis in and no remap (factory 115bhp) i get quite alot of smoke, in fact ive got it set at 8 O'clock atm and its much better.
