As you know i have been working on an abingdon for the last year with a good bit of help from Chris G1.

the car has gone from this.

to this.

over the year we have
Swapped engine by removing whole subframe and replacing with a VVC engine of similar mileage.

underfloor Coolan pipes, alloy rad, coolant flush etc... new battery. Car now starts and runs fine.

My dilemma is this work commitments as they are I don't really have the time to finish it off ( I can see it taking me another year to finish with working most weekends)

As far as we can see the car needs the following to get through MOT

New Windscreen as Cracked,
Brakes all round,

Possibly some suspension bushes,

But to fully restore the car it needs a new hood or repair to the usual 2 places.
and a bit of a tidy up as there is damage to the rear quarters and a paintless dent removal on the osf wing.

So do I cut my losses and then look for another F or do leave it for next summer and get her sorted?

What would she fetch in current condition?

Now that is looking good, it must give you a lot of satisfaction getting the car to that stage from a non-runner.

Difficult to put a value on it as it stands, completed cars are either not selling at all just now or when they do, for very little money if you go by ebay sales. If you can, hold off until spring and sell with an MOT.

It does give me lots of satisfaction. I hear what you are saying re Price. It's just a time n money thing I have neither at the moment.

I may stick it in for a mot to see what's wrong and go from there. The thing is as it's an Abingdon I want to being it back to as near to perfect as I can. This of course will coat a fair few quid none of which will be recouped if I ever sold it.
It's only worth what you want for it if there is someone out there prepared to pay your price. To be honest I would say with the work needed and no MOT I would price it around £700-900
Not knowing the mileage or history etc. There are less and less people out there who are prepared to work on cars now and want a running concern. I got a S reg F with a noisey motor but 9 months mOT and 4 months tax for £450 albeit a normal non LE car

Thats where i was thinking price wise. I hear you about the non LE F's i could probably pick up 2 for the cost of the work needed.
tbh I think that range is abit optimistic I would say closer 400-500 seen runners go for less.

She's a runner just not got a ticket yet. Its the cosmetics that will cost me the money hood then paint.
