Another tyre question (sorry)

Hi all, I've seen a few older posts on here about tyres but a lot of the suggestions don't seem to be available anymore (unless I'm not looking hard enough). What are the current recommended best tyres for the TF?

While I'm asking I may as well make sure what size is correct. My car is a TF 160, so am I right in saying it should use the following sizes?:
195/45 R16 Z - front
215/40 R16 Z - rear

Many thanks!

Most say Toyo, others say Falken, Personally I fit budgets and never had a problem...most budgets are made at the same place branded are anyway.

Are these the right Toyos?

Yes, it is the TR1 tyre that people use. (Got them on mine.)

If I recall correctly, the MGOC in conjunction with Vehicle Handling Solutions (VHS) did some pretty comprehensive testing with both 15" and 16" wheels in 2019. The MGOC published the results for Toyo TR1 and T1-R, along with Falken Ecorun 310 They also tested them at different pressures. The best combo I think at 16" was Toyo T1-R at front and Toyo TR1 at rear with pressure at 26/36? It is well worth googling the results as it takes the guess work and our personal "preferences" out of the equation. VHS engineers are the original MGRover engineers who set up MG TF handling/tyre spec.

Just out of interest I went on a few sites and not one got the tyre size correct, they all assumed it was the same front and rear.

Oh right that's interesting, I'll have a look, cheers!

Yeah I found that too, only seemed to be blackcircles that had the correct ones automatically
