All,

I haven't been so active on here the last week or two as I have been busy setting up my own dedicated car tuning website. Its going slower than I had planned so could be a whilst till its sorted. Ill link you lot when its done and when this has beed ok'd by the .org gaffers...

As for my TF...

At the moment all is going well. the HG job went ok, had a coolant loss after it but have sorted this out. have also sorted the timing and have the car set up so so sweet right now, revs very freely, pick up is cracking throughout the rev range and handling is better than ever. I had a set of Toyo T1R's fitted last week as well as the tracking set up... the car feels like a new go cart now! superb!

only problem I have with the car is its far too QUIET! sounds very sweet as the VVC system comes in to its own... just too quiet!! My current project should sort this out ;)

Hoping to take the 160 to a completely new level... N/A... 180bhp is not enough...

Watch this space...

can get a set of QED throttles with omex ECU for just over ÂŁ1600 ;)

forced air... but that means new internals... cant be bothered with that!

i have a plan... will try it out over the next few days, if it fails then never mind, if it works then the car will be rather loud but should be very responsive ;)

My impression was higher bhp/revs required new internals, not just for induction. Above a certain bhp/revs the pistons will start failing around the skirts/rings, above that the con rods will start failing, very rarely, above that the crank and bearings may start failing.

There is no hard and fast figure for these, but neadless to say that very few car manufacturers will use parts rated much above the standard figures as it costs more. There are some exeptions, but I doubt MG were one of them.
