Any RTV silicon sealant will do.

Any quality Silicon from a DIY store, Bathroom sealer is the best if you don't mind using white

 

The Hylomar one is fine. Don't use bathroom sealants on engines. I know that they look the same and work in the short term, but the ones designed for the job are more heat and oil resistant.

 

It has worked fine for me on 500BHP motors and lasted for over 4 years on one motor
Hylomar is for seeing whether a surface is flat, not a sealer

 

For this application I'd use without any doubt Arexons Motorsil D.
I experienced this red "tomato" paste 35 years ago and still using it.

 

I,d go with the blue hylomar cjj, i,ve used it a few times before on my cars and i use it at work too, its top stuff.

 

I thought Blue Hylpmar was more of a mating surface sealant rather than a seal sealamt.

 

And NEVER use engineers sealant in the bathroom. I did. Took me two years to get the shower door open. :naughtymarsh:

 

Too late guys, I decided to grout the seal in.

 

We use a product called Elring Dirco for sealing face to face parts on engines ,go to your local engine reconditioner they know best
