hi could some one tell me were the air temp control valve is on my 1993 420gsi 2.0i 16v rover engine please thanks gaz

There isn't an air temperature control valve on the engine.
There is a coolant temperature sender which is the two pin sensor screwed into the thermostat housing (These often fail).
Also check the lambda sensor is cycling and that the exhaust manifold isn't leaking (also a common fault).
