Can anyone help! I bought my 2004 MG ZT last October, it seems every time it rains on the motorway the air sensor picks up salt, causing severe lack of power. My local garage (Ex Rover main dealer) say it is a design fault and all they can do is clean the unit when it happens. This has happend 5 times to date.
Is there a modification avaliable?

There was a Technical Service Bulletin on this one, you were supposed to attatch a plastic sheild in front of the air intake on the slam panel to deflect the salt water etc away from the intake. You can now buy just the actual sensor on it's own rather than a complete assembly from Rover which works out cheaper as does buying one from a Bosch agent.
