I have had my ZR diesal turbo for a few months. I found that the ABS kicked in sometimes for no reason at slow speeds, I assumed it was due to worn disks. I changed my pads and disks but still the problem is there. It will be OK when I brake at high speed but when I get down to 10 MPH or less the ABS starts up. I also noticed that the ABS warning light comes on at random. If I re-start the car it goes off!! I'm not a brilliant mechanic but will have a go at fixing stuff if it's fairly easy and accessable. Could anyone give me a few pointers or tips on how I solve this one.

Thanks in Advance

Welcome to mg-rover.org.

The most common problem seems to be cracked reluctor rings on the front driveshaft CVJ's. Easy to check, and if cracked, can confuse the ABS system.

Do a search for threads containing 'reluctor'. One recent thread is here
