1. When you press the a/c button and turn the fan speed on, the compressor of the a/c system runs continuously until you shut it off?

2. When the a/c is on and you put the fan speed to 1-2-3-4 does the compressor runs faster or the fun speed controls just that, ie how fast the constant flow of cold air from the compressor comes out of the vents?

The way I would expect it to work would be that the A/C compressor works at a 1 constant speed when it is on, so the amnount of air coming from the vents would be controlled by the blower speeds 1-2-3-4.

Yes thats what happens in my car.
