I left work this afternoon topless, heading onto the dual carridgeway there were a few drips of rain, I thought hey if it gets worse i'll pull into the layby near the roundabout I come off at (10 miles away) and put the roof up.
Anyway as i'm progressing it's getting worse I thought ah i'll survive this.
Few more miles down the road with nowhere to pull over the heavens opened up!
The complete dashboard, inside of the windscreen, seats, t-bar covered in drenched, i'm practically downing!
I don't think i've seen rain like that before in my life!

The best laid plans and all.. :shake:

:eek:uch: Poor thing! I know that weather - I was only a few miles form you!

How you gonna dry the creature's interior out? I have an industrial dehumidifier if you want it?!! :_poke: Or you could just heat up the car to boiling and open and close the windows about fifty times?!;)

I think the car has pretty much dried out now, When I got home I toweled down everything I could see, and left the blowers on for about 10 minutes when I got home to hopefully dry it out a bit, I'll have to assess it in the morning to see what it's like, if nothing else the interior has had a good clean !

and thanks for the offer Vixie! :)

What glorious top-down morning and complete contrast to yesterday afternoon when I was thinking the hardtop would be better on the car then in the shed. The added bonus this morning was being able to accuse a MX5 owning colleague of being a WIMP when he arrived with his hood up.

Something smiliar happened to me a few months ago. I decided to leave work, where the sun was shining, with the roof down and started heading towards home and quite a large black cloud.

I kept thinking, if its starts to spot I'll pull in, but of course, as soon as I passed the last lay-by before I joined a dual carriageway the rain started.....swiftly followed by hail!!

Not only did I feel a right prat but had a sore head and absolutly no sympathy from the wife!!
