HI

Had a few mins spare.:coffee:

Once again thanks to you guys I have changed a rover part to a citron part number 6438V8. £ 4.60 each plus VAT so nearly did not bother.:irked:

Spot the difference.

The removal was very straight forward a quick push with some long noise pliers and hay presto.

The new part fits in as a direct replacement.

The one on the right is the new one a little bigger but this is the result.

But considering the result I'm very happy.:woo:

Just in case any one what's to give it a go.

Ta-tar for now

I bought some Ripspeed ones form the orange shop on the high street. Made from chrome steel they are about the same size as the Citroen ones. Trouble is I have yet to get them to do more than pee water into the front scuttle. Its as though the pump doens't have enough power to make them spray. Going to remove the one way valve this weekend and see if it removes the restriction.

I have the same ones in silver finish, work fine on my LE500 but at speed they tend to hit the lower part of the screen although it is still adequate for washing when needed, but work best when stationary across the whole screen.

I had no problems with fitting them but the car is newish so this may be your problem as posted by a Scottish member on the MGOC forum recently:
Well I tried a new pump and no difference. I then removed all of the pipes from the car and soaked them in detergent & very hot water for 10 minutes and flushed them through with a syringe, a load of black gunk came out of the long pipe from the pump to non return valve, so I then pushed a slim metal rod through each length of hose and flushed the T piece & non return valve with hot water & detergent, all re-assembled and now working brilliantly.

I might remove the NRV on mine having read this thread. I've got the Chavspeed ones from Halfords as it was all they had in stock at the time, and they only do the lower portion of the screen when the car's moving at 30mph+.

Still better than what was on there before though.
