They are expensive and i've just bought a new car,

i was just wondering if it was possible

not looking for stupid answers like buy a 3 door,

Thanks

It'd cost an absolute fortune, you'd basically need a whole new body, which would be cheaper than somehow turning yours into a 3 door. I know it's not the answer that you want but buying a 3 door is SO much easier and cheaper lol. Plus when you come to resale people will want to know why it has a new body... as will your insurance company probably.
Not really possible I don't think, the cost definitely won't justify it! Your only real option is to sell it and buy a 3 door I'm afraid. :(

I agree though, I would never buy a 5 door car, only 3 door for me, much more sporty! 5 doors just feel like a family car to me.
The amount of bits that are different between 3 and 5 door are enourmous. Have a real think about it and you'll realise the amount of work involved. The list of interior fixings alone is huuuuuuge.

There are only 2 answers tbh, sell yours and buy a 3 door version, OR simply learn to love the 5 door :) Think of the practicality when it comes to having a car full of people. Trust me, it's a pain carting people around in a 3 door (i have a 3 door ZR :) )
I Know what you mean about having a 5 door being easier when it comes to playing taxi.

but you just can't modify it and make it look good, its not fair.

3 doors are way more easy to modify and be able to justify it, 5 doors always look like your trying too hard :(

plus 3 doors are really expensive, unless i can get a swap but i doubt anyone would.

Thanks All

Keep looking, 3 doors seemed cheaper when I looked!

I know what you mean, i specifically shopped for a 3door ZR when i bought my car for this reason. But i think it's just one of those things you'll have to live with. To be fair i don't think modifications look bad on a 5 door, what mods are we talking about though?

I think the 3 door had cleaner lines from the side (pic below), but because the doors are so huge, they're a bugger in tight carparks :)

Well if i lower it, i just don't think it will look right...it will look like a 3 door wanabee wont it?

people are so critical these days (myself included), i dont want it to look like crap :(

and i cant tint the windows really can i??

non of it will look right i don t think.

Thanks for the laugh about the carpark....needed a pick-me-up

Thanks

I got my 5 door for £500, i haven't seen a decent 3 door (like ful working order) for that price :(

Ah, I'm not surprised, that's an outstanding price for a 25 to be honest.
Plenty of tastefully modded 5 doors around i think, this used to be a 216 si apparently!: (As above, £500 is a great price btw)

Exactly...At the time i just wanted a Rover 25 or MGZR, when i found her for that price i couldnt refuse.

Thats why i dont really want to get a new car because its going to be twice the price, and can't guarentee getting a great price for her, as she has some bad scratchs on the body work.

Just wanted to make her look good, but its impossible with a 5 door .

Not meaning to be rude....but i looks just like mine now....what have they done to it?? x

its a waste of time even trying to convert it, if u wanted a 3 door why buy a 5 door?

It will only look crap if you mod it badly. (under car neons and wind screen washer lights anyone?) Besides, it's YOUR car, you do what you want to it.

You can tint windows, just don't bother with the fronts as the police will nick you for being to dark.

Oh, and the other guy is right, 3 door cars look cool but are a PITA in tight spaces to get into and out of.

Turned it into a ZR :p

You can definitely tastefully mod a 5 door, but I personally agree that the 3 doors look better. To be honest you got very lucky to get yours for £500 - if you just keep looking maybe a similar 3 door example will pop up. Some people seem to value their cars low without doing any research.

Did you not see how much i paid for my 5 door....£500 you cant really argue with that....

didn't realise i wanted a 3 door till after i bought mine.

Thanks
