Have you checked the wheel balancing also?

 

The wheels were balanced few months back but i might get them done too depending on cost.

Sounds a reasonable price mate.

It'll be interesting to see how much adjustment is required and what difference it makes to the handling (if any). Keep us posted on the results. :broon:

Cheers Ian, I swapped m wheels back to front last week and relised that something was worng due to heavy inner wear even though it felt fine to drive

camber, tracking, and being lowered are some of normal causes for inner tyre wear have to post ur results so we can have something to refer to in future

 

yeah will do mate, and trust me it has chewed the inner tyres on both sides of the front, so hoping this will sort it.

was surpised at how normal it drove and felt, until i realised how much tyre has gone in 4k...

Thats it mate, i have checked mine since i once found them so worn to the point the thread of the tyre was showing, didnt want it to go pop at high speeds

 

Lower you go, more neg camber you get. Just one of those things your going to have to live with unless you buy expensive top mounts.

Thats fine with me mate, thats why i bought cheapo tyres, cos theyll prob need replacing every 5k, actually been pretty pleased with how the federals have performed considering they cost 40quid fitted

itsweird though cos atm my car is handleing better than it ever has, i am razzin it everywhere without loosing grip except from bit of torque steer :devil:

 

quick update. Got it sorted today. Most noticeably the steering wheel sits straight at 70 and it much heavier, giving a more planted feel. Apparently it was out by 'miles' according to the bloke.

 

I had 4 new tyres and balancing and tracking done last October and since my steering wheel seams to be off centre when going in a straight line, Its hard to fell for sure. Also wheel I lock to the left the wheel rubs? I'll book it in to have tracking doen i just want to make sure it is the tracking first.

 

This garage that I went to is really good. Much better than anythin else. Last time I had the tracking done at national autocentre they didn't do it properly

my zr does exactly the same to my front tyres.......been tracked up twice now, still eats tyres.

 

Think it normal for bit of inner wear. If it feels normal to drive then would say its okay. Knew mine was out by the fact it had other symptoms plus it chewed the insides in under 5k

 

cant forget your tyre pressures. every little thing mounts up.

That's true. Problem is I got directional tyres. Many garages won't touch them once worn. Will see how long these last compared to the Set pre tracking
