24 Registered in the UK, ever seen one?

March 2004: MG launches its SV supercar. April 2005: MG Rover goes down the pan, taking its SV supercar with it. In that period, a not-so-grand total of 24 SVs had been registered in the UK. That makes it an extremely rare beast - and a guaranteed future classic

Although I am not sure that David Woods of Luffield still owns one or not.

Yes, I have seen and heard (!!!) SV's around and about. In fact I saw one pre-release being given the beans around the south of brum. The arches make them look soooo wide and beefy in reality. I certainly wouldnt say no.

I also remember when they were going bump MG wrote to me offering me a 80k car for about 35k.....wish I had the money at the time :(

He did own one , I remember reading his running reports in either Car or EVO. I think he did sell it though, I seemed to remember he liked it, but lets just say it had good old rover build quality!!!!

The other classic was in effect one head butting JC on Top Gear.

There is one car in the USA. There may well be more hidden in private collections that were imported through the gray market.
I remember looking at the Oakfields ads when they were clearing out the bankrupt stock and drooling!:URGOD:
Does anyone know what became of the cars that William Riley had?

The picture you posted shows the XP Prototype cars in the foreground. I think the yellow one went to Germany. I think the yellow car was XP 3. The flat black one is XP1 (no engine in it though!)

Do you have any more pictures of the auction to share?

Sad days but I am glad I was there.

one of my dream cars... it's got everything... V8 sound track, it's british (all be in with an italian grandad) it's smothered in CF, Jeramy Clarkson loved it (even though some of the gearbox was on holiday - you have to love rover) and its exclusive... in-fact you could drive about in one for 10 years and (apart from braking down allot) i bet you'd never have another one pull up next to you!

Anyone with money can get a Ferrari or Lambo or Merc or what not...

Not everyone with money and class can get one of these.

That's my point when it comes to 'unusual' cars.

I don't care what people think about the car I drive, but I'd much prefer people to look at (and try to) find out what car I'm driving rather than thinking I'm a rich snob driving a Ferrari (to name one).

This car is the king of cool. Very exclusive, and rather affordable I would say. Don't care if it performs worse than a similarly powered Ferrari... it's just soooo coooool

That Must be Gutting

I test drove one but couldn't afford it, also it had a reputation for falling to pieces which I just cant put up with having worked at Volvo for 7 years.
So I went for the next best thing.
A Brand new ZT260 in solar red.

This is that car the only one with a factory dashboard.

:sad3:

Worked at Volvo drove 2 MGs ....and 1 Volvo 240! YEESSSSS
