Evening guys!

Got a problem......the metal part around the glass has corroded, and as such the seal is no longer sealing! The seal itself is fine, but with the way its corroded, it wont sit right again......so! How easy is it to take the glass/frame out of the car and either repair it or replace it? Its currenty bodged with gaffer tape to stop the unwanted breeze coming through! lol Looks a bit errr.......sh!t! lol

Cheers!

Hi ho! Easy to take out. If you tilt it up there is a plastic cover each side over the screws which slides back & off. Lower the roof again & remove the 3 screws each side. Best option really is a 2nd hand panel, they are an arm + leg new and rarely repair. Good luck!!

If you do a search on the forum you should find a "How To" on how to repair the sunroof. It is a problem with the 200's. I had to fix my last 200Vi's sunroof. It's a bit messy to do but works. You'll need sealant. It's basically taking the rubber off the sunroof, and cleaning up the rust, and sealing the rubber back on. It'll take a few hours to do it right. Either that or go to a scrappy and try to find a good replacement. The glass comes off the mechanism easy enough. Take off the plastic covers that hide the runners, and remove three screws each side.

unless you can sand the rust down, stick some rust treatment on it then bond the rubber back to it, making sure you seal it back up tightly.
