Hi,

Just failed my MOT on emissions... :(

Just a couple of quick thoughts...

My temp guage stopped working last week, doesn't rise at all.... I've checked the resistance across the sensor (brown 2-wire one) and it changes with temperature.... Is this also the ECU temp sensor? Is the other sensor the fan switch??

I guess I'll have to look at the lamda sensor, which pins do I check across?

Emissions weren't massively out.. 0.8% if I remember correctly and about lambda 1.15 ish.... Doesn't seem bad enough to be the cat...

Just removed the dash pod and all the connections seem OK...

Thanks for any thoughts.

Stu

The brown sensor is for the ECU coolant temperature and for fan switching.

The single wire sensor is for the temperature gauge.

Where the Lambda sensor plugs into the loom the Grey and Green Grey are the signal wires, the latter being the earth.

Right, OK, so the fact that my guage isn't reading anything probably doesn't mean much as the fan kicks in and out at the right times... And yes I've got coolant in the system!

Guess Lamda sensor it is then!

Cheers.
