so here i was looking for another golf mk2 to join the collection (of 5) when this popped up locally, i've always been a Metro/Maestro/Montego fan so decided to go have a look, having been away from the Rover marque for 20 years, i honestly thought this wasnt going to be up to much, after talking to the owner a while, it turns out it belonged to his mother who purchased the car new in 1987 and used it just to potter to the shops and back, in it's 31 years on planet earth it has covered just 70,000 kms (44,000 miles) i does have the odd parking bash and needs afew bits of trim but otherall the car is awesome, one arch had a little surface rust but thats it, it's certainly a rare surviver, but the best way to mod.. that's still the question the moment, i fancy it abit lower maybe just MG shocks and springs, i plan to keep the outside pretty much stock.. i binned its poundland wheetrims and its currently rolling on polished merc trims, i've binned the stereo that was in the car as it wasnt original anyway and the wiring was frank butchered in, so now its sporting a rather flash Alpine Unit and 6 disc changer, i've replace the front speakers with MTX terminators as the originals had perished, the rears are shot too, but decided to just stick house speakers in the boot for now unit i find a better solution, i'd love to find a VDP to nick its chrome and leather but chances of finding one are pretty slim in france and proberly the uk these days, and there you have it

i'm looking for either VDP (dome shaped) or Lattace (like MG or Advantage Alloys) but may go down the MGF route if i cant find any, but had to get rid of those poundshop wheeltrims and these were all i had laying around lol
