Apart from a MGR dealer  , have you tried the usual suspects, MGF Centre, Mike Satur, MGR breakers or even Flebay.
Will try the mgf center later :s2h: Nothing on Ebay at the moment, MS is a tad expensive i find :sad3: and i'll try the mgr breakers after mgf center!

Thanks for the advice
N1ck, don't forget Midland MGF for an early breaker call.
Oh yeah i forgot about them........ im on it;)

On the nail again Pete. I'm a bit wary about posting at the moment - a mod seems to have a Sprinter alert and moves threads with me in them.

you should be ok here Sprinter, I'm quite well in with the local mod ;)
Hey, i don't do a bad job on here you know? ;)

Nick,

I'm curious, why do you want a 160 brake servo? As far as i am aware they are the same as any other F/TF brake servo. Only difference is the bias valve (which is a separate item). Do you know something i don't? :)
according to Glenn it makes a diffrence :eyes: but im gonna go with you on this one (your the expert :URGOD: )

So do i need a bias valve then?

 my youth really shows in my technical threads:O
I don't think so (also the plumbing is a pain). You just need to think about upgrading the rear pads to something really good to compensate for the better brakes on the front.

Try to get hold of some Mintex rear pads (Mike Satur sells them i think, and also Rob Bell was talking about a bulk buy recently of the racing spec 1177s recently). That should do it i reckon.
Excellent ;) I'll send Rob an email and see if its still on! which pads do you have on?
I have Mintex 1155s on the rear, but i 'only' ;) have 280mm discs on the front (the AP ones are 304mm diameter). I reckon Mintex 1166, or even the race spec 1177s would be a match for the MG AP 4 pots on the front.
Spoken to Rob and he said the group buy has finished but if i can get 10 people wanting them he will sort it out (for mintex 1177's i belive)

Nick might be onto something here with the brake servo, as interestingly, I was chatting to Neil yesterday as his car is being finished at the MGF Centre. He's had the brake servo replaced for a TF item. Okay, it probably needed it after the damage the front end of the car sustained, but Victoria was saying how many changes the servo design had received since the early MGF days. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to quizz Bill over the specifics, but there was some comment regarding diaphragm strength and speed of response...

Not got any more details - but if anyone knows more, I'd be interested to hear!

Okay, need a ten car set order to get another batch of rear 1177s manufactured - so let either me or Nick know if you're interested. Cost for the last order was £74.82 + VAT - you can see how this worked out in the thread on the MGs on Track forum: http://forums.mgs-on-track.com/showthread.php?t=236&page=1&pp=10
Ive opened a can of worms here
I didn't think it was wise to fit the racing 1177's to a road car because of the time it takes for them to get up to operating temperature?

I'm also upgrading to APs at the front, so might be interested if you can allay my above fears!!
