1.8k turbo conversion

I've got my eye on a 1.8t ZT on ebay thats coming to an end soon, and still fairly cheap.

Reading up, it has a Getrag gearbox...

My ZR also has a Getrag box, the IB5 from the Fez ZS,
Rumour has it that the IB5 is good for only 150bhp, and obv. the ZT is 160 as standard, so, am I supposed to use the Getrag unit from the ZT?
Will it fit? Welding etc..? Gearlinkage?


Any help will be much appreciated! :)

You'd want a pg1 surely? ib5 is not a great box.

i hope you're not buying a decent zt for the conversion, a rear ended crashed car would still donate all the parts you need.

If I could find a rear end crashed one I would, but this one is going for £370 atm, I exppect it to go up in the next few hours so I probably wont get it, I don't know where everyone finds all these wrote off cars nice and cheap from but I'd be more than happy to use a ruined one than a perfectly good one..

Is it straight plug and play or do you have to change over Flywheel and such?
You'll need a PG1 gearbox, flywheel and clutch. Also driveshafts, gear linkage etc.

I had a 1.8k turbo in my ZR with a B6BST gearbox.
I need to go back on tour so I can get some moneys... Then I could afford to do all this at once lol..

Already got those ;)

Sat in the workshop waiting to be fitted. Well, just need some H/Brake cables.. Lol
