my 103 IS does 60 in about 9.9 if i really mash it. i am planning to try pulling off in 2nd gear and just flooring it all the way to 60. just for the hell of it.
pretty much all performance figures (apart from maybe bhp) are nearly always conservative.
My old corsa's official 0-60 was 14.0 and I could do it in about 12.5 and when I got my SDi parker's said it would take 9.8 to do the sprint but I managed it once in 8.2! (before I put my fat tyres on it!)
they'll both be faster than those figures but I dunno how much faster than each other they'll be...
Well the only difference the 1.4 has across the range is trim level. Fair enough air con could add a difference in weight, but different coloured carpets or material for seats making me a second faster??? Would be nice to think so
hehe go faster carpets, no i cant explain why the IS is supposedly quicker, maybe you should just count yourself lucky and rub it in other peoples faces that you've got the fastest standard 1.4
in the 1.4 16v you could make close to 9 secs, me and my mate did it, and yea we were sad enopugh to put it on you tube too. chech out my 1.1 0-60 too whilst you're there lol.
just watched them vids, the 1.1 is a tad pants but that 1.4 tears it!
