Been a while since I strayed into the diesel forum... :err:. So, I've got a 1.8 K-Series under my bonnet now, and I'm comtemplating going derv again. Probably something like a Rover 400, rather than a 25/45/ZR.
Before I do though, I want to know roughly what people actually manage...
Just got back from a trip driving in Europe over the long weekend and was in no hurry at all averaging between 55mph and 65mph (occasional bursts higher).
Filled up 50 litres (was completely empty) and started the 800 mile trip...
540 miles later i needed to fill up!!!! 540...

For those of you that saw my "Technical Questions" thread (thank you very much Technozen for the vital info) you might know what this is about.
Basically I've been labouring away the past few days to create a MPG meter that can be fitted to any Rover K-Series engine using a MEMS ECU...
I'm currently in the process of making a MPG meter than can be installed in any K-Series engined car.
I can do the programming and majority of the wiring just fine, the only bit I need help with is getting the input from the car.
I need the injector pulse wire and vehicle speed...
There seems to be quite a debate on this subject
So what is the BEST MPG you have recorded using your MGF/TF
I have a run to Bham to do again on Monday so will brim the tank and recalculate

Ladies and Gentlemen. One of my conversations with Rog Parker was about the fuel efficiency of the F/TF.
I cane my car everywhere and get 38mpg without breaking in to a sweat. Rog reports mid 40s with his lighter foot. I agree with him that a 50mpg MGTF could be achieved fairly easily...
