  1. MGF and MGTF
Yesterday was the day Jon Norris came over to the Netherlands to sort out my HGF and replace other things. As the head was off we also fitted the Mike Satur 4-2-1 manifold, which was still a relative pain to fit in. Everything went pretty well! One set back was a small rubber sealing O-ring that...

Ok then, so had my MGTF for 2 months now and had my coolant pipes replaced 4 weeks ago due to a leak. Used my usual garage and severely wish i hadn't. Had to take it back the next day as the flipping thing was still leaking, now I fear the worst.....I reckon they haven't bled the system properly...

Hello everyone I've currently got my whole engine out of the car. I've had the head skimmed and a new block put in. While the engine was out the mechanic (Russell) told me i needed a new clutch as well. My question to you guys is, while the engine is out what else should i buy now and have...

I’m looking for a low mileage, clean and reliable VVC engine. I’ve just had the wonderful Russell Walsh over to my house for an inspection on my MGF. After taking the head off he told me where the problem was. The car had the beginnings of HGF. As a result the coolant was decreasing. In a mad...
  6. How Do I - Answers To Common Problems.
BACKGROUND The Rover 214 was suffering coolant loss at the rate of 300 ml in 300 miles. There were no visible external leaks. I thought that the quickest solution would be to put it into a local garage for repair. When I did so, unsurprisingly, they diagnosed Head Gasket Failure (HGF) and set...

MG TF Non-Runner HGF Hello to all, I'm after a TF non-runner (therefore good price) but the body should be in good condition (don't want cat C or rusted up body). A Head Gasket failure would be perfect. I have been after an MG for a while and have decided this is the best way I can afford...

After visiting and calling a couple of garages re the HGF on my Rover, I was surprised at some of the respsonse I got.. 1] "Nah, don't touch Rover's no more, fixed some HGF's in the past, only to have the car come back after two weeks boiling over" < I suspect that they didn't do the job...

XPart supplies ‘ultimate fix’ for MG Rover K-series engine Mods : I accept this is a sort of duplicate thread, but considering the number of HGF threads about at the moment, and the numbber of people who don't venture out of the MGF/TF section, I thought it was worth a link. If it breaks too...

It would be interesting to see how many of us that have used the upgraded Land Rover head gasket after suffering an HGF had again the same problem. Just to see whether it is really an improvement or not. Also please state your mileage/kilometers done after the Land Rover gasket fitted.
